Merlin’s original Hixon leather jacket was first released in 2016 and was a staple of the Merlin collection for many years. The team at Merlin have given the Hixon a refresh, but we are happy to report they haven’t ventured too far from the original. The Hixon II is still made from the same delightfully supple cowhide leather, for instance. Merlin have upgraded the armour, now using D3O Level 1 armour in the shoulders and elbows. The fit was slightly tweaked too, with a slightly longer length, new design details and crucially: more ventilation - with three back vents and two chest ventilation points added.
It makes the Hixon a well thought out motorcycle jacket, with its classic style cues hiding modern safety features. Highly recommended.

With disruption to postal services, we are sending all orders via next day courier to ensure arrival in time for Christmas day. Choose from FedEx, DPD and DHL at checkout.

- All style & comfort 0 people found this helpfulMy friend and I have a couple of Merlin jackets (Miller / Silverstone), riding shirts (unsure of model). This is by far my favourite. It is snug fitting but somehow roomy in the right places which is the opposite of the Miller for my body type. I'm not the skinniest or largest 5'7 fluctuating between 75-80kg and developing a semi dad bod. This fits great around the hips 32"-33" and still snug enough around the arms/shoulders. This and the Silverstone which fits similar but a little looser will be my two jackets for all seasons with a rain cover for heavy days. I purchased the D30 back protector to go with it. Fits true to size where I find the Miller roomy in the shoulders/arms but tight around the waist.
