ONYX RIDING HOODIE MK2
Working with the team at Merlin, we have created the ultimate riding hoodie by combining the latest material technology with a classic silhouette.
Building on the runaway success of our MK1 Onyx Hoodie, the MK2 is constructed from a single layer woven from a mix of regular fleece fabric and DuPont™ Kevlar® fibres. D3O® ‘Fit-and-Forget’ Ghost™ armour is pre-fitted in the shoulders and elbows with a pocket for a back protector should you wish to add one. The garment is certified to a CE Level AA safety standard.
The result gives you reassuring levels of protection when riding while offering supreme levels of comfort, making it perfect for all-day use.
The Onyx collection results from the Merlin and Urban Rider teams combining their ideas and expertise to create the ultimate everyday classic garments, equipped for the ride without losing sight of comfort or style.

ONYX LEATHER JACKET
Introducing the Onyx Leather Jacket, sporting a classic silhouette that matches any style of bike. The Onyx Leather Jacket is made from a premium, 1.3mm thick cowhide that has a reassuring heft to it while remaining supple and soft. This sumptuous black leather is complemented by all black metal hardware and zips.
D3O® ‘fit-and-forget’ Ghost™ armour is pre-fitted in the shoulders and elbows with a pocket for a back protector should you wish to add one. The jacket is certified to a CE Level AA safety standard.
We also went to great lengths to ensure the Onyx is a comfortable jacket for you to wear. The leather under the arms is perforated and you’ll find zipped vents on the chest and lower back allowing for air to flow through on hotter days. Extend your riding season by inserting the quilted thermal gilet. Pleated shoulders ensure you can reach for the handlebars without effort while stretch panels on the side keep you comfortable while sat on the bike.
Branding is kept purposefully minimal, with the UR logo embossed on the lower hem and some subtle parallel stitch lines across the shoulders and arms.

ONYX WAX JACKET
We launched the original version of this jacket back in 2018 and it was a direct hit. Years later, and people are still asking us when a new batch would be available. Well, the wait is over: have a look at the new and improved Onyx Wax Jacket. The jacket maintains a sleek profile and is still packed to the brim with motorcycle-friendly functionality.
The abrasion-resistant 8oz Halley Stevensons® Cotec tech waxed cotton outer hides features that make this jacket perfect for all-year-round use: repositioned chest and back vents, a Reissa® Active waterproof/breathable membrane and a removable fully sleeved removable thermal liner.
The Onyx is equipped with D3O Level 1 shoulder and elbow armour and there is a pocket for an optional back protector. It has received a CE Level AA safety rating.
As the name might suggest, the Onyx is available in one colour: Black. Down to the zips, trims and snap buttons. Ribbed leather shoulder panels give this jacket a distinct style and provide a pleasing contrast in texture.

ONYX RIDING TRAINER MK2
Our previous iteration of the Onyx riding trainers was a run-away success and the reviews were outstanding. So we made a second, improved version!
The Onyx MK2 features the same all-black trainer look. We have given it an even more casual aesthetic but underneath the hood, this boot means business. The matt black outer is a 2.4mm thick premium cowhide leather. It has a suede-like finish that feels and looks the part and will age nicely. It is backed up with a Hipora triple liner, keeping things waterproof yet surprisingly breathable. The sole was completely blacked out, as are the ringlets for the laces. Our branding has been kept to an absolute minimum, with a subtle UR logo embossed on the heel and a fabric Merlin logo on the tongue.
The heel, ankle, toe and footbed are reinforced to protect your feet from impact and double stitching throughout ensures that the Onyx MK2 will last you for years to come. We have used D3O impact protection to keep your ankles safe without making the shoe too rigid. It’s safe to say this is one sturdy sneaker, but that doesn't mean we compromised on comfort. The slightly padded inner liner and antibacterial insole give you plenty of support and their moisture-wicking properties mean things stay nice and dry down there. We wanted to make sure the Onyx MK2 offers all-day wearability, so you can park the bike and walk around without a worry in the world. Soft leather piping avoids any chafing around the ankle and subtle reflective details mean you'll be seen when you need to be.
