Working with the team at Merlin, we have created the Onyx Collection: a capsule range of motorcycle garments that we feel should be staples in any rider’s wardrobe. Our previous iteration of the Onyx riding trainers was a run-away success and the reviews were outstanding. So we made a second, improved version!
The Onyx MK2 features the same all-black trainer look. We have given it an even more casual aesthetic but underneath the hood, this boot means business. The matt black outer is a 2.4mm thick premium cowhide leather. It has a suede-like finish that feels and looks the part and will age nicely. It is backed up with a Hipora triple liner, keeping things waterproof yet surprisingly breathable. The sole was completely blacked out, as are the ringlets for the laces. Our branding has been kept to an absolute minimum, with a subtle UR logo embossed on the heel and a fabric Merlin logo on the tongue.
The heel, ankle, toe and footbed are reinforced to protect your feet from impact and double stitching throughout ensures that the Onyx MK2 will last you for years to come. We have used D3O impact protection to keep your ankles safe without making the shoe too rigid. It’s safe to say this is one sturdy sneaker, but that doesn't mean we compromised on comfort. The slightly padded inner liner and antibacterial insole give you plenty of support and their moisture-wicking properties mean things stay nice and dry down there. We wanted to make sure the Onyx MK2 offers all-day wearability, so you can park the bike and walk around without a worry in the world. Soft leather piping avoids any chafing around the ankle and subtle reflective details mean you'll be seen when you need to be.
We believe the Onyx MK2 is an ideal every-day trainer that nails the casual look while offering premium levels of protection, both from the weather and the tarmac.
The Onyx collection results from the Merlin and Urban Rider teams combining their ideas and expertise to create motorcycle garments that are equipped for the ride without losing sight of comfort or style. We believe the Onyx MK2 ticks all the right boxes and we are happy we managed to improve a firm customer favourite.

Christmas Delivery
With disruption to postal services, we are sending all orders via next day courier to ensure arrival in time for Christmas day. Choose from FedEx, DPD and DHL at checkout.
UK Orders - Next Day Delivery: Order by 12 noon on Wednesday the 21st.
International Orders - Order by 12 noon on Monday the 19th.
Orders placed before 12pm (Monday to Friday) are shipped the same day, if all items are In Stock as indicated on the product page.
