We like our helmet designs clean and classic, just like our bikes. We’re not fans of hypermodern race helmets with more buttons and toggles than your average laptop. Luckily, there is an abundance of options out there for you if you want modern levels of protection in a sleek package! We have put together a selection of our top 5 Retro Full Face Helmets for 2022. Each helmet in this line-up has passed ECE safety standards, yet they are all very different. Have a look at our video and Tim will tell you all about them!

Roeg Chase Helmet

To kick things off we have the Roeg Chase. At the time of writing, this is the very latest addition to our helmet range and it immediately made our Top 5 shortlist. With clean, minimalist styling reminiscent of early full-face lids motorcyclists would have used decades ago, it’s stunning to look at, without sacrificing modern, everyday usability. At £225, it is certainly one of the cheaper lids out there, and you get impressive levels of quality and comfort!

Shoei Glamster Helmet

We hate the name, we love the helmet! From one of the simplest helmets in our line-up to possibly the most complex: the Shoei Glamster. It is extremely lightweight, low-profile and comfortable and still manages to incorporate all of the features you’ll find in Shoei’s more modern helmets, like quick-release cheekpads, a chin curtain, pin-lock-ready visor, decent ventilation, removable liner etc. At £409.99 it is the most expensive helmet on this list, yet we believe it is more than worth it! If you don’t want to take our word for it, just read the many customer reviews the Glamster has received on the product pages.

Biltwell Lane Splitter Helmet

The Biltwell Lane Splitter is a drag racing style helmet crafted around Biltwell's proprietary ABS shell and featuring a shock-absorbing EPS liner with gorgeous hand-stitched interior padding. The interior liner with its removable cheek pads and BioFoam chin bar cushion makes for an extremely comfortable helmet that you can wear all day without experiencing any fatigue or discomfort. The aggressive-looking lines of this helmet truly set it apart in the retro-styled helmet market. A bold and brutish-looking helmet at a very attractive price point, we're big fans!

Bell Bullitt Helmet

Next up is the helmet that kicked off this entire segment and is a long-standing staff and customer favourite: the Bell Bullitt. Its massive viewport gives you an unparalleled field of view, which is the reason for the Bullitt often being described as an open face helmet with full face levels of protection. It is not the quietest at higher speeds, but at those speeds you should really be wearing earplugs, no matter what helmet you are wearing! Put a tinted visor on this bad boy and it looks incredibly cool, while you can rest assured that you’re getting a premium quality lid from one of the biggest brands in helmet land.

ByCity The Rock Helmet

Last but not least, we have another recent addition to our range: the ByCity The Rock is a motocross-inspired helmet with loads of vintage flair. The compact and lightweight fibreglass shell combined with a plush removable and washable interior provides all-ride comfort on the bike and keeps you looking at the top of your game. The leather trim and metal vents on the chin guard are reminiscent of some of the high fashion motorcycle helmets on the market, but The Rock comes in at a far more attractive price point of £165.

With a traditional 3-stud set-up, you can customize your ride with a snap-on peak or visor, and the retention strap to the rear of the lid allows you to sport some true-to-style goggles.

Undeniably fantastic value for money, the Bycity The Rock helmet punches way above its weight.
