Merlin Mahala Raid Explorer Jacket

Starting off the list with Merlin's Mahala Raid jacket. Merlin are no stranger when it comes to summer riding gear. Honourable mentions are the Chigwell and Shenstone jackets. If you like waxed cotton, be sure to check them out.

The Mahala Raid, however, is the one that grabbed our attention this year because it stands out from the pack. It is a slightly longer, adventure-style jacket which is based on the non-mesh Mahala jackets from Merlin's Explorer range. It maintains the rugged styling and adventurous attitude, still using the finest materials, but adds supreme levels of ventilation so you can keep cool when the heat turns up.

The jacket comes pre-fitted with a 5-piece set of Level 1 D3O® armour - that’s impact protection at your shoulders, elbows, and back - and a pocket for chest armour should you wish to upgrade. It has received a CE Level A safety rating.

Designed for hot weather riding, the Revit Eclipse is all about airflow. It is constructed from strong mesh on the chest, stomach, back and under the arms. The impact zones consist of a strong 600D polyester that will offer protection in case of a slide. your elbows and shoulders are kept safe from impact by the included CE Level 1 armour and there is a pocket for an optional Seesoft back protector. This combination grants it a CE Level A safety certification.

The Eclipse is available for men and women and comes in a variety of different colours.

Fuel Arizona Jacket

Leave it to Fuel to design a completely utilitarian jacket and manage to make it look uber-cool while they're at it.

Featuring huge mesh panels crafted from abrasion-resistant heavy polyester on the front, arms, and back, airflow won’t be a problem. The rest of the jacket is crafted from luxury suede panelling, keeping a vintage aesthetic for what is a technical modern summer jacket underneath. Top-grade impact protection comes in the way of Level 2 CE armour inserts at the elbows, shoulder, and back, so you’re more than covered in that department. The Arizona sports a CE Level A safety rating.

Belstaff Temple Mesh Jacket

Next up is a returning staff and customer favourite. The Belstaff Temple is perhaps the jacket in this line-up that looks least like an outright motorcycle jacket. It has less venting than the ones above but the mesh panels on the shoulders, arms and waist combined with the lightweight nature of the jacket will still make your hot weather rides a lot more comfortable.

The Temple is a CE Level A certified jacket and comes with super subtle D3O armour in the shoulders and elbows, with a pocket for an optional back protector. The Jacket is available in black, navy and green.

Knox Core Armoured Layers

Last but not least is the Knox Seasonless collection. Now, we are cheating a bit here by sneaking in three different product ranges, but trust us when we say they all deserve a spot on this list. Which one is right for you depends on the kind of riding you do!

You have the choice between the Action Pro, Urbane Pro and Honister, respectively rated A, AA and AAA. Knox armoured shirts can be worn on their own with no other jacket required.
