The stylish and casual Drifter Explorer jacket from Merlin aims to help push the motorcycle industry forward to a greener future. Crafted with the eco-conscious adventurer in mind, Merlin uses 100% organic ripstop cotton from Halley Stevensons® that’s soft-tumbled for a vintage look and feel. The water-repellent finish is entirely fluorocarbon-free, and the Drifter is produced using 45% less CO2e and 50% less water, resulting in a sustainable, future-proof riding jacket.
The abrasion-resistant outer is backed by a high spec Texland Humax® waterproof and breathable membrane, designed to combat the worst conditions mother nature can throw at you, keeping you safe and dry when you need it most. Pre-fitted in the jacket are the barely-noticeable D3O® Level 1 elbow, shoulder, and back armour inserts, with pockets for chest armour if you’re looking for an upgrade.
The Drifter is equipped with plenty of storage options for your essentials, with high-quality YKK zippers throughout, and magnetic side-entry pockets. There are plenty of adjustment tabs on the arms and hem so you can customise your fit, and a connecting strap and zipper help the Drifter stay in place. The tank guard on the central zipper is a more than handy feature, stopping you from damaging your pride and joy while you ride, and the double fold-back collar is ideal for summer riding .

- Great Jacket 0 people found this helpfulI bought this as a lighter weight alternative to my Merlin Edale and it hasn’t disappointed at all. The jacket feels lighter with more freedom to move and none of the trusses up feeling I get in some of my bulkier jackets. I don’t know how it will stand up to the worst of the UK weather yet, but the short journey or two I’ve been out on so far, the jacket has been great at keeping the elements at bay. Great buy!
- A Great all day and Practical Jacket 0 people found this helpfulI have been looking for ages for a good looking jacket that I can wear confidently on the bike, is comfortable enough to wear off the bike AND would offer the protection needed whilst working with dogs with Behavioural issues ( I'm a Dog Trainer) Oh yes, it had to be green(ish). The Merlin Drifter Explorer ticks all the boxes and is already my favourite jacket. Urban Rider's simple size guide proved to be accurate ( they get a tape measure, measure the jacket and you compare the results against a favourite jacket that fits) Highly recommended.

- Well made and stylish 0 people found this helpfulI am a biker but I didn’t buy this for the bike, I liked the look of it for a casual jacket and confess to removing the armour and having it as my out out coat. It’s well made and the usual Merlin quality.
