Helstons are exceptionally good at distilling refinement into its simplest form and they’ve certainly nailed it with the Basic perforated glove. When you look at the premium quality materials used in these gloves, they really are an absolute steal. The full grain cowhide that the Basic is constructed from is usually reserved for the best designer products in the fashion industry. In a motorcycle glove it gives you durability, abrasion resistance and a long lasting glove that will age better with time, taking on a vintage patina and molding wonderfully to the shape of your hand. This sturdy leather is reinforced at the palm with aramid fibres to give you skid-resistance should you need it, and the memory foam at the knuckles is impact absorbing. All these nifty safety features secure the Basic CE Level 1 approval. As is standard for all Helstons’ products, these gloves look great; the subtle contrasting details between the brown of the outer leather and the tan stitching, edging and perforation add dimension to the Basic, not to mention some much-appreciated breathability.
