If you've ever had the pleasure of seeing a Goldtop product up close, you know these guys know a thing or two when it comes to leather motorcycle equipment. The 1958 jacket is no different: it is a beautiful short cut leather motorcycle jacket styled after american aviator jackets from the 1950s with a folded collar and clean, fitted lines. The leather used is a beautifully soft leather that is 1.4mm thick. This is thicker than most motorcycle jackets out there, offering excellent protection against road rash. Because Goldtop only select the best hides and dye them using aniline dyes, they keep the leather soft and supple, making their jackets comfortable from the get go.The 1958 is designed to house the renowned Knox Micro-lock armour and the jacket comes equipped with CE Level 1 armour in the shoulders and elbows and a pocket for an optional CE Level 2 back protector. A sumptuous gold quilted lining adds a nice touch to an already lush jacket, it also makes the 1958 a jacket that is ideally suited for UK temperatures and will see you through all seasons except for the very hottest days. - Goldtop 1958… superb! 0 people found this helpfulThis is my second Goldtop jacket, the quality is absolutely superb, the weight and feel of the leather tops far more expensive jackets. I’ve had multiple comments on both jackets. I bought the 1958 specifically because it’s simple, no excessive patches or zips, logos or detail and harks back to an era that when I’m on my Harley just compliments without any compromise on safety. Personally I switch the supplied armour with ghost armour which allows much great freedom and comfort. The size guide is right, you’ll want to size up but really just check the measurements on the site. Equally if you’re wanting to wear layers under the jacket you should add a cm or two because it is a slim fitting jacket, sleeves were spot on and good inside pockets.

Definitely go up a size or two. I wear a size 38 suit jacket and the 40 I got is definitely snug since the armor adds additional padding. Shipping was quick. I live in California and it arrived 5 days after ordering.

The leather is top grade as far as I'm concerned, being no expert ofcourse. Really pleased with the all round quality of this jacket. A perfect retro bit of kit.

The details are incredible and the leather is soft and very thick. A very premium feel with quality stitching. The protections from Knox feels great, barely visible on the sleeves and back. You can also wear the jacket without those protection and it fit perfectly. Shipping was fast and easy ! Thanks !
